2026 InterCollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Nationals

The 2026 Wheelchair Basketball Nationals, hosted by the National Wheelchair Basketball Association, once again showcased the highest level of adaptive basketball talent in the country, bringing together elite men’s and women’s teams for a highly competitive and inspiring tournament.

This year’s championship highlighted not only the growth of the sport but also the continued impact of the Fairfax Falcons program, with several alumni competing at the national level. Their presence across multiple divisions reflects the strength of the Falcons pipeline and the program’s commitment to developing athletes who succeed well beyond their time on the team.

In the photo to the left, Falcons alumni Nuri (UWW #0), Alex (CUNY #1), and Millie (CUNY #13)  are seen representing at Nationals—each contributing to their respective teams and demonstrating the skill, determination, and sportsmanship that define the Falcons community.

Erin (#3), another Falcons alumna, plays for the University of Alabama.  They again captured the Women’s Intercollegiate National Championship title, for the 6th year in a row.

Griffin (#13), another Falcons Alumni,  plays for Auburn University, won the Men's National Intercollegiate National Championship title.

Several other Falcons Alumni  participated in the Intercollegiate league,  Jeraldo  (University of Illinois, #11), Alyssa (Arizona #3), Ryan (Edinboro #33). Their achievements mark significant milestones and serves as an inspiring example of the opportunities available to athletes who continue competing at the collegiate level.

Overall, the 2026 Nationals were a powerful reminder of the growing reach of wheelchair basketball and the lasting impact of programs like the Fairfax Falcons. Seeing so many alumni competing—and succeeding—on the national stage underscores the importance of grassroots development and the strong community that continues to support these athletes long after they leave the program.
